I've got a question. In the summer i bought two babi siberian hampsters. they were brothers and they were from the same litter. Lately the one hampster has been beating up on the other hampster. they have been squeaking. I don't know what i should do. the people at the pet store when we got them said they wouldn't fight but they have started fighting. the one hampster who is getting picked on by the other hampster doesn't appear to have any bruises bus seems to be very skittish and scared of the other hampster now. I don't know if there is a way to train the fighting hampster to stop fighting? any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. p.s. I don't want to get rid of them because they are both really cute.

Okay, well, I haven't had experience with hamsters, but maybe this would work: Try putting them in separate cages for awhile, and see if the fighting one calms down a bit? Then try putting them in together, once the beaten up one calms down a bit. Hope this helps. Caitlin

Oh, and if they still don't get along after that, maybe keep them in separate cages forever, but close together so they can kind of interact that way? Caitlin

hamsters are not social animals, as in, they do not live in large groups but tend to live on their own. it is recommended that you do not keep hamsters together as they will fight. Especially being male hamsters they will be fighting over teratory. The one who is doing the beating up is the dominant one, and the other one is submissive. I would recommend that you keep them in separate cages from now on, be warned, hamsters can be very vicious, and it is not unheard of for one to kill the other one. hth.

Please separate them as soon as you can. They will kill one another if they're not put in separate cages.
